A Letter to My Inner-Self

Dear Inner-Self ,

Be selfish to enjoy your own self, because your happiness comes from within. You can be in that relationship but don’t let that relationship define you. Friendships matter, but don’t let them define you either. It’s always great to have people in your corner to support and motivate you but understand, your motivation comes from how bad you really want it. You should wake up each day, read your devotionals, smile in the mirror at yourself, and breath in positive vibes even when you not feeling it. Your bad days should never overpower your good days. Make sure to set a goal either each day or each week and accomplish it by acting on it. If you say you’re going to do something, do it. Procrastination can stop your dreams from coming true.

Allow yourself to enjoy your life. Don’t settle because that’s what you think is more appropriate. Travel, try new foods, experience different things, and allow yourself to jump at any opportunity that you think you want to try, read new books, and challenge yourself. Don’t allow the fear that you have in life hold you back because you are scared of what people on social media is going to think. So what? You’re finding yourself in your twenty’s.

Explore different job opportunities in your life especially after you graduate. Don’t settle for one position because you think that’s what you suppose to do. You get experience from working multiple jobs. One job can’t show you every skill and technique you need and want to know. Once you find that job that makes you happy to wake up every morning and go too then you can allow yourself to settle a little. Have multiple trades under your belt so that when one thing becomes boring and exhausting to you, you will always have something else to fall back on.

Don’t complain all the time! Make the best out of what you have. I know you feel like you want to be in control of everything and everything should go your way, but it never does. So accept it, and smile. Find yourself wanting to help others, because that’s something you can control. Go out and live in your purpose and inspire others to do the same.

Make sure that once a week, you take some time out for yourself and dwell in some self-care. Self-care gives you time to relax, rest, and recharge. During this time you should intake some of God’s word by reading the Bible, praying, attending bible study and going to church service. All of it is a plus!

Lastly, and most importantly, LOVE YOURSELF! When you love yourself, everything else falls in line.
