Every year, I try to come up with some amazing things to do with or for my mother for Mother’s Day, because she deserves the absolute best. And that’s why sometimes it’s never easy to get the perfect gift or plan the right activity to do. The great thing about my mom though is that she is not hard to please so that makes planning a lot easier, I just know to always incorporate seafood somewhere in that plan (lol).
It’s so many simple things that you can do for your mother for Mother’s Day this year, especially if you are on a budget like me, and just trying to really enjoy her company.
And let’s face it, we trying to enjoy some of the goodness that we giving her too. So below I have listed a short list of some great ideas I have decided to use for my Mother’s Day gift this year.
1. Cook brunch/dinner.
I think this idea is just inexpensive, and it allows your mother to pick her own menu, relax and watch some tv (maybe even take a nap) while you in the kitchen cooking up her favorite. And don’t say, I don’t know how to cook…grab a recipe off Pinterest or a good cookbook from the library and follow the directions. You will be fine, and your mother will be grateful, and the plus side, you don’t have to leave a tip at the end.
2. Grab her some of her self-care items for herself.
Everyone can always definitely have some great self-care essentials. You can stock up on her favorite essentials, personal hygiene items, and grab something that she can potentially try for the first time. Especially with me being on a tight budget these days, I know that I can’t go get one gift for the price of maybe all of these items. She will appreciate it the same because it can definitely save her money in the end later down the road.
3. Movie Night.
This may sound like a terrible idea, but it’s actually the best idea. You save about $30 dollars in your pocket, and you don’t have to worry about a crowd or your safety. You can watch several movies over the course of the night, grab some popcorn, a bottle of wine and just engage in some good laughter and some good crying throughout the night. And if you really not in the cooking mood, you can order some takeout and have it delivered straight to your doorstep.
4. Spa Day.
This gift can still be an inexpensive gift. Find the best deals. Understand what your mom really likes, and grab them before they have gone. You can even throw an at-home spa day for your mom where you do everything such as a pedicure, manicure, and even help her with her hair. Now, the eyebrows and waxing hit up my girl Antonia Scott for that because she is completely dope for that.
5. Joy Ride on the Town for the Night with a Rental.
Want to take your mom out for a good ole’ joy ride with no worries about either of you driving? It’s always a hassle to decide who is going to drive, GPS around town, and finding parking. Well, with “Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co.” you can definitely have that night out with no worries while all doing it in style.
