5 Must Things To See/Do In Charleston

**Sponsored Post**

Taking a weekend getaway to Charleston, South Carolina is always relaxing. The city has it’s way of making you feel like you are at home, even if it’s for two days. Charleston has amazing scenery, amazing food, and amazing people…so, with this in mind, I’ve put together a shortlist of a few of my own favorite things that I plan to do go with a few girlfriends of mine for a weekend getaway. You only need a few days, or even hours to accomplish these items so you’ll plenty of time to enjoy it with your best friends.

1. Take a Boat Tour to Fort Sumter.  This has some of the most amazing scenery. If any of your girlfriends are into history, this boat tour is for them. This is the place where the first shots of the American Civil War were fired, and this was the location of the first battle. The boat ride takes about an hour and a half from start to finish so perfect to enjoy after brunch to let your food settle.

2.Old Plantation Houses of Charleston. Another history lesson for history buffs,  but the scenery of these houses is beautiful just as the boat tour. I love learning about the history of the south while also being surrounded by a beautiful garden. When I visit with my girlfriends, I plan to see a few more of the plantation houses because they are all incredibly unique and a well-known staple in the Charleston area. Get your camera ready because you’ll want to take plenty of pictures of these gorgeous and historical buildings.

3. Historic Charleston City Market. This market is located in downtown Charleston and where you can find several vendors. After reading up on it, it almost reminds of Columbia Soda City where you can walk around and see what different vendors have. The market is a great place to try foods that are a staple to the south including fried chicken, waffles and grits. YUM!

4. Watch the Sunset at Folly Beach. Of course, the temperature will have to be right for this type of adventure but the idea of it is pretty cool. Another great location you go is to Battery Point, where you can see the sunset across the river. This does have a few romantic vibes but it also can be a great little cocktail hour with the girls before going to dinner together. Is there anything more fun than watching a gorgeous sunset with some of your best friends or spouse?  I think not!

5. Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co. Instead of a carriage ride through town, I’m thinking about taking one of these nice cars and to enjoy a moment to relax and not drive to where you want to go. And the plus side of using their services is not having to worry about parking if you want to maybe stop at certain places while strolling through the city. When booking with Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co, you have the option to choose your car depending on the size of your party. You have options from vintages cars to limos or even sprinters for larger groups if you want to make this a family affair, or a ladies’ night out. To reserve with Lowcountry head over to their website! You can reserve your car online or call and speak to a service representative.
I can see my girlfriends and I am having a great time shooting with a few of these incredible cars and limos when we have a get together one weekend! We’ll be the envy of all our friends in some of these ones of kind shuttle busses and unique vintage cars.

There are always so many fun things to do, see and eat in Charleston but these five things I think are a few that will really make your time in this town memorable for years to come. If you don’t have time to do it all, my biggest suggestion would be to take a look at the Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle co to at least explore the city via their car service. This ensures that you’re able to get to your destination on time and in style. Of course, whatever you choose to see, eat or enjoy in this magical town, you’ll have the best time because you’re with the ones you appreciate. Enjoy all the historical romance that Charleston offers it’s out of town guests and even locals like myself. There is always something new and fun to see.
